Utah is a very unique state that is packed full of recreational adventures, wonderful sightseeing opportunities and some amazing geologic landforms. Not only is Utah packed with national parks, but there are also many places to visit that aren't as well known and are just as breathtaking. When you visit Utah, make sure to ask a local about some of the locals hangouts so you can see as much of the state as possible.

The state of Utah is mostly on a large plateau that averages about 4,000 feet above sea level. It is probably one of the most diverse states with its desert red rocks and snow covered mountain peaks. The geology of the area is amazing with its diversity of shapes and colors. The elevations throughout the state also vary dramatically from the high mountains to the buttes and plateaus. Some of the regions plateaus reach over 13,000 feet. Such a wide ranging landscape brings a wider range of activities from solitary excursions to family getaways. Whether you want to relax with the family and show them some of the country's most amazing sights or just get away from everything, Utah is the place to be.

Within the borders of Utah sit five of the most amazing national parks in the country; Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce, Capitol Reef and Zion (one of the oldest national parks in the nation). The parks have a huge variety of landscapes from dramatic spires to massive arches to rivers. Utah is full of brilliant colors among its landscapes.
