Baton Rouge General and Claiborne Elementary team up for new school-based clinic

Claiborne Elementary students will be able to receive in-school medical care from a family doctor through a new collaboration between Baton Rouge General and the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, a doctor from the Baton Rouge General Mid City Family Health Center will be onsite one day a week at the elementary school and see children for various ailments, such as sore throat, sprain or cough. The clinic can test for common illnesses, including strep, influenza, and COVID-19, and can also send prescriptions if needed. Visits to the school clinic are free and covered by most insurances. Caregivers can sign up by filling out a consent form for their child to be seen by the doctor if needed.

Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson Partners with FMOLHS for First Diversity Fellowship

Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson and Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System are launching a diversity scholarship program.

The program will allow second-year law students from a diverse and underrepresented community to spend the fall semester as a lawyer in the Baton Rouge office of Breazeale and the spring semester working internally with Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. legal department.

LSU Executive Education will offer an executive development course

Experienced professionals seeking to advance to senior or executive level leadership are encouraged to enroll in LSU Executive Education’s Executive Development Program. The next session of this non-consecutive five-day program will be held September 12-14 and October 3-4.

The program prepares participants to take on broader leadership responsibilities within an organization. In addition to improving communication, negotiation and decision-making skills, each participant will undergo a comprehensive feedback and coaching process that will provide insight into their work and leadership performance. Participants will have access to an experienced business coach who will help them develop individual development plans.

The deadline to register is August 26 and the fee is $3,800. Fees cover tuition, study materials, professional coaching, food, and excursions.

South Louisiana Economic Council Launches Regional Strategic Planning Initiative

The South Louisiana Economic Council has engaged Emergent Method, a Baton Rouge-based management consulting firm, to develop a strategic plan that will help SLEC accelerate Louisiana’s Bayou region’s economic recovery from COVID and the Hurricane Ida.

SLEC’s focus for the strategic plan reflects an understanding of the impact of the pandemic and storm on the parishes of L’Assomption, Lafourche, Sainte-Marie and Terrebonne. Key areas that the strategic plan aims to assess include: identifying changes in the regional economy, determining the best approach to support emerging industries, determining the approach to support operational changes within businesses existing ones and the realization of a global analysis of the economic activity in the region

The initiative started in October 2021 and will end by October. The finalized plan will follow a 12-month implementation phase during which SLEC welcomes community input and feedback. For planning and implementation updates, visit www.bayouregion.com.

Entergy Solutions Launches Bonus Program for Louisiana Commercial and Industrial Businesses

Entergy Solutions has an incentive program in place that offers businesses more money when they apply this summer to perform energy-efficient facility upgrades in 2022.

The time-limited program is available to help commercial and industrial businesses improve the energy efficiency of their buildings or facilities and is for new projects submitted and approved through July 31. This bonus is in addition to the standard cash incentives offered by the program for approved energy efficiency projects and applies to the total incentive for the project.

The incentive bonus offers a rate of 10% for projects approved until July 31. After the application is approved, program participants will have until December 31 to complete their projects.
