New online course on the new rules of civil procedure in Cyprus

The new online self-study course on the New Rules of Civil Procedure (PRC) in Cyprus was presented during the event organized by the Cyprus Judicial Training School and the Council of Europe in the framework of the project “Supporting the successful implementation of the new rules of civil procedure in Cyprus” which ended on March 30, 2022.

The online course contains a description of the most significant changes in civil procedure, and some examples of existing English and Welsh case law corresponding to the fundamental parts of the new Cypriot CPR. The course also contains information on the respective fair trial standards set out in Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The online course is hosted on a dedicated site HELP e-learning platformthe Council of Europe platform – a unique resource offering online training courses for legal professionals.

The course should become a useful tool for all legal professionals, providing access to information on the novelties and the philosophy of the new civil procedure.

the new rules of civil procedure in Cyprus were adopted by the Supreme Court of Cyprus in May 2021 and will enter into force in September 2023.

The project was funded by the UK Commonwealth and Overseas Development Office and implemented by the Council of Europe in collaboration with the Cyprus Judicial Training School and the Cyprus Bar Association.
