Pregnant street dog beaten to death by Delhi students, dragged through field | Video

Videos of Delhi engineering students killing a pregnant street dog inside the university campus and then dragging her across the grounds are going viral on social media.

By India Today Web Desk: In a horrific incident, a group of students allegedly ganged up on a pregnant street dog and bludgeoned her to death in South West Delhi. The defendants are believed to be students of the Don Bosco Technical Institute located in Okhla. The mob of students tortured the dog, killed her and then dragged her lifeless body across the field, video reveals.
The disturbing video shows a gang of students, all men, cornering the dog inside a tin shed on the institute’s campus. A student can be seen outside the shed with a rod in hand and the remaining students cheering him on from outside.
Later, one of the students could be seen dragging the dog across the field and throwing the animal into it. After the horrific video capturing the torture and murder of the pregnant dog went viral on social media, animal lovers and activists called for strict action against the accused.

New Friends Colony Police have filed an FIR in this case and an investigation has been launched. According to the complaint, two brothers from the institute were also present under the instructions of senior staff, the PTI news agency reported.
Speaking about the incident, Ambika Shukla, Administrator, PFA, told PTI, “It is horrific to see such brutality from young students who can be seen laughing as they beat a expectant mother.”

“These boys must be expelled from the university and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The institution must be severely penalized because not only its students but also its staff are implicated,” she said.
On Saturday, a Hyderabad man was arrested for allegedly killing two puppies and uploading videos of the act to Instagram. The man killed the first puppy by hanging it from a tree and the second by throwing it from the fourth floor of a building.
A few days ago, a horrifying incident was reported in Ghaziabad in which three people killed a dog by hanging it in a grotesque manner. The defendants in this incident were held in a case by the police after a complaint.
