Six Berks teams advance to District 3 field hockey playoffs, including top seeds Wilson, Oley Valley

Wilson and Oley Valley earned top seeds, and four other Berks teams also qualified for the District 3 field hockey playoffs, which open with first-round games on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs (18-1-1) are the No. 1 seed in Class 3A, while defending champion Lynx (18-1-1) is the No. 1 in Class 1A.
Additionally, Governor Mifflin (9-9) made the 14-team Class 3A field, Twin Valley (12-8) made the 16-team Class 2A field, and Berks Catholic (17-3 ) and Wyomissing (14-5) received spots in the 16-team Class 1A field.
In Class 3A, Wilson received a first-round bye and will open the quarter-finals on Saturday, October 29 against the winner of the first-round match between No. 8 Dallastown (10-6-2) and No. 9 Warwick. (8-8). The Bulldogs are looking to win their first district title.
Governor No. 13 Mifflin will play No. 4 Manheim Township (14-4) Wednesday at 4 p.m.
In Class 2A on Wednesday, reigning champion No. 6 Twin Valley will host No. 11 Conestoga Valley (10-8) at 4 p.m.
In Class 1A on Wednesday, Oley Valley will host No. 16 Biglerville (10-7-1) at 6:30 p.m., No. 4 Berks Catholic will host No. 13 Kennard-Dale (11-7) at 7 p.m., and 11 Wyomissing will travel to face No. 6 Newport (14-3) at a location and time to be announced.
The semi-finals in all classes will take place on Wednesday November 2 and the finals on Saturday November 5.
Wilson and Oley Valley will play in the BCIAA final on Saturday at Alvernia University at 7 p.m.
